Kormuth Fires 1-Over Par to Lead Zips at Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge

Pawleys Island, S.C. – Akron golfer Kaitlin Kormuth fired an opening round 72 (+1) score to lead the Akron Zips scoring at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge on Monday afternoon at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club (Par 71 • 6,054 yards).
The Zips finished with a 311 (+27) team total as Kormuth led the way with the 1-over par score. Kormuth carded 10 par scores and four birdies en route to a tie for 12th place on the players' board.
Emily Liptak followed Kormuth in scoring with a 79 (+8) opening 18-hole round tally. She registered six pars and two birdies on the day, while Maisarah Hezri and Sohniya Chandra Mohan turned in 80 (+9) scorecards. Both Hezri and Sohniya Chandra Mohan recorded 10 par scores and one birdie.
Hridhika Vora rounded out the Zips' scoring with an 81 (+10) ledger.
The Zips are scheduled to start round two of the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge from hon No. 10 as Vora is set to tee-off at 8:50 a.m. followed by Chandra Mohan (9:00), Hezri (9
