MAC Football Coaches Pick Zips Third in the East

CLEVELAND— The Mid-American Conference head football coaches have selected the Akron Zips to finish third in the East Division in their own 2016 MAC Preseason Poll.
Based on the voting of all 12 head coaches, Akron earned 49 points, including one first-place vote. Three-time defending East champion Bowling Green was picked first, followed by Ohio and Akron. Buffalo, Miami, and Kent State rounded out the picks.
In the West Division, Western Michigan was selected first, followed by Northern Illinois and Toledo. Central Michigan, Ball State, and Eastern Michigan rounded out the predictions.
The Akron Zips, under the guidance of fifth-year head coach Terry Bowden, open the 2016 season against VMI on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 6:30 p.m. at InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field.
The inaugural Touchdown Music Fest, featuring Soul Asylum, kicks off the day's festivities. The music festival is FREE to the public. Gates to the Lee R. Jackson Track & Field Complex (next to InfoCision Stadium) open at Noon. Live music will be played from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
General admission tickets to the Akron-VMI game are $10. Fireworks will follow the game.
Season ticket plans—which include a ticket to all six home games as well as a parking pass—start at only $60 each. Renewals (for current season ticket holders) and new seats are now available for purchase by calling 1-888-99-AKRON (25766) or visiting The C.P. and Cornelia S. Chima Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the corner of E. Exchange and S. Union streets) during business hours (Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Single-game tickets are on sale now.
All-Access 10 Packs, which contain 10 undated vouchers, are available for $100 and can be used for game tickets for any of the ticketed sports.
The Alumni All-Sport Plan, which has season tickets for all six ticketed sports [football, men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, and women's basketball] as well as a $20 donation to the Z-Fund, is available for $175.
