MAC WBB PLAYERS OF THE WEEK RELEASE
CLEVELAND, Ohio – University of Akron senior Hannah Plybon (Orrville, Ohio) has been selected by the Mid-American Conference as the MAC East Division Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
The conference award is the third in Plybon's career and marks the second weekly conference accolade for a Zip during the 2016-17 campaign.
Plybon led the Zips with a 17-point, six-rebound effort in a 67-57 setback versus Duquesne last Saturday, Dec. 17. Both her point and rebounding totals were team-high marks.
On the season, Plybon is averaging a team-high 19.6 points per game, while pulling down 4.8 rebounds per contest. She is shooting 39.4 percent from the field and has connected on 35.8 percent of her shots from distance.
Plybon and the Zips (6-3) return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 21, playing Elon in Akron's finale at the Georgia State Classic. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
