CLEVELAND — The University of Akron's 2015 football home schedule features five Saturday games and a Black Friday rivalry contest, the Mid-American Conference announced on Friday.
Season tickets for the six games at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field start at just $60.
"We are excited to kick off the 2015 season," said head coach Terry Bowden, who begins his fourth season as the Zips' mentor. "We are pleased with our schedule, and we know our fans will appreciate that all of our games, with the exception of Kent State, will be played on a Saturday. Spring practice begins in two weeks, and we look forward to tackling the challenges each opponent will bring this fall."
Akron, which finished the 2014 season at 5-7 overall, opens the 2015 season at Oklahoma on Sept. 5. The Zips' home opener is a non-conference bout with Pittsburgh on Sept. 12, followed by a home game with Savannah State on Sept. 19. UA closes out the non-conference slate with a trip to Louisiana on Sept. 26.
In its MAC opener, Akron will host Ohio on Oct. 3 in its annual Homecoming game.
The Zips hit the road for back-to-back games, visiting Eastern Michigan on Oct. 10 and Bowling Green on Oct. 17.
Following a bye week, Akron hosts Central Michigan on Oct. 31.
UA opens November with two MAC road games, traveling to Massachusetts on Nov. 7 and Miami (Ohio) on Nov. 14.
Buffalo comes to town on Nov. 21, while neighborhood rival Kent State visits on Friday, Nov. 27, in a Black Friday showdown in the PNC Wagon Wheel Challenge.
The 2015 MAC Championship game is slated for Friday, Dec. 4, at Ford Field in Detroit.
The MAC expects to release an updated schedule in June that will contain kickoff times and television affiliations for the first three weeks of the season as well as mid-week games. All other game kickoff times and television will be announced 12 days prior to the scheduled game.
