AKRON, Ohio – Following its first two-a-day practice schedule, the Zips football team worked out for three hours on Friday morning at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field. The squad dressed in shells for the session that focused heavily on the program's kicking game
Second-year UA head coach Terry Bowden gave GoZips.com an update afterward and previewed Saturday's morning scrimmage.
Zips Notebook: UA will hold its second two-a-day on Saturday, with a formal scrimmage in the morning and a kicking oriented scrimmage in the evening ... the team's second-annual Kickoff Luncheon will be held on Friday, Aug. 23 at noon at Quaker Station in downtown Akron ... seats, reserved tables of eight and sponsorship opportunities for the event are still available and can be purchased by calling the Athletics Ticket office at 1-888-99-AKRON (25766).
The season gets underway at UCF on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN3. UA's home opener is against James Madison on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. on ESPN3.
