AKRON, Ohio – The Zips football team held its third two-a-day practice of preseason training camp on Tuesday, drilling for two hours in the morning and another two hours in the evening at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field.
The players dressed in full pads for the first session and in shells for the second workout of the day.
UA head coach Terry Bowden provided his daily update to GoZips.com.
The squad is scheduled to return to the field on Wednesday afternoon and will dress in full pads.
Zips Notebook: Today marked the 12th and 13th practices of camp ... a camera crew from the Pritt Entertainment Group was on campus yesterday to shoot the team's stadium intro video for 2013, view a behind-the-scenes photo gallery ... Zips Sports Network radio play-by-play announcer Steve French was on hand for Tuesday's night practice ... the team's second-annual Kickoff Luncheon will be held on Friday, Aug. 23 at noon at Quaker Station in downtown Akron ... seats, reserved tables of eight and sponsorship opportunities for the event are still available and can be purchased by calling the Athletics Ticket office at 1-888-99-AKRON (25766).
The season gets underway at UCF on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN3. UA's home opener is against James Madison on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. on ESPN3.
