AKRON, Ohio – The Zips football team held an 100-plus play intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday morning at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field. Similar to the squad's scrimmage on Wednesday, today's session featured a variety of situational sequences.
The team took to the field again tonight for a kicking scrimmage.
First-year head coach Terry Bowden visited with GoZips.com and shared some highlights from the day.
The team will take Sunday off and return to the practice field on Monday morning.
UA gets the season underway versus Central Florida on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. ET at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field. The opener will be carried by ESPN3.
Zips Notebook: Today marked the 16th and 17th practices of preseason camp for the team ... it was also its fourth two-a-day session ... UA Athletics will hold a Kickoff Luncheon on Aug. 24 at noon and "Hoppy Hour", a pre-game professional networking event prior to the season opener on Aug. 30 ... to reserve a spot at either event, fans need to contact the ticket office at 1-888-99-AKRON (25766).
