Rifle Squad Opens 2011-12 Season with MAC Open at Navy

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron rifle squad will take to the range for the first time this season over the weekend, competing at the Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC) Open at Navy.
Coach Newt Engle's charges will compete both Saturday and Sunday as part of the event, with action at Bancroft Hall Rifle Range slated to begin at 8:00 a.m. each day.
Seniors Sarah Benjamin, Jenna Compton, Luke Nelson, Ryan Stein and Zachary Szabo are all schedule to shoot for the Zips this weekend. Also figuring into the mix will be junior Nicole Dietrich; sophomores Chelsey Frink, Andrew Besch, and Victoria Brown; and freshman John Hupp.
UA opens up its home schedule next Saturday (Oct. 8) against John Jay University.
