AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron football team wrapped up its preseason training camp on Saturday with an open to the public practice at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field. Wearing full pads, the squad worked out for the 19th time dating back to Aug. 4.
With the fall semester scheduled to begin on Monday, the team will take the next two days off and return to the practice field on Tuesday to begin preparation for the season opener at Ohio State on Sept. 3. The matchup with the Buckeyes kicks off at noon ET and will be televised on ESPN.
Today's practice was dominated by competitive drill work, including a spirited 3-on-3 competition where three offensive players compete to advance the ball 10 yards in three downs versus three defenders.
