Football Bye Week Update with Ianello

AKRON, Ohio - Coming off the bye week, first-year Akron football coach Rob Ianello visited with GoZips.com following Saturday's two-hour practice at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field. The Zips last competed on Nov. 6 at Ball State and are idle until next Wednesday (Nov. 17), when they play host to Miami (Ohio) at 6 p.m. ET in an ESPNU telecast.

The Akron-Miami matchup will be the first-ever mid-week football game to be held on the UA campus, and next Wednesday has been designated "Support the Zips Day" by University President Dr. Luis M. Proenza. Faculty and staff are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing Zips gear to work that day, and the University will host a campus-wide tailgate party beginning at 4 p.m. in Coleman Common, located adjacent to the stadium.
The meeting between the Zips and RedHawks is the start of a two-game, season-ending homestand for Akron, which also plays host to Buffalo on Friday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. (the day after Thanksgiving). A variety of promotions and special events surround both games.
Fans who have an AAA or Sheetz card can received $5 off any reserved or general admission ticket for the Nov. 17 game against Miami (presented at the Akron Athletics Ticket Office at the time of purchase).
Also available for both games is the "Zips Football 4-Pack." Priced at $60 (a savings of $40), the package includes four lower-reserved tickets, a parking pass in a tailgating lot and a $10 concessions voucher. Packages must be purchased prior to gameday; and tickets, parking passes and vouchers will be mailed to fans who purchase at least five days before the event date. Packages purchased less than five days prior to gameday can be picked up at will call at the main ticket office any day between the time of order and game day.
Tickets for Akron football games can be purchased by phone at 1-888-99-AKRON (25766), online via the ticketing page on GoZips.com, or in person at the Akron Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the intersection of E. Exchange and S. Union streets), Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. ET.
