Wall-to-wall intricate carpet patterns … soft,
comfortable furniture … floor-to-ceiling window walls
… elevator access to the lobby … and a "to die for"
view of downtown Akron … and oh yes, ideal sightlines of all
the gridiron action below on Summa Field. While many of these
details would make for a list of great selling points for any
apartment, what sets this location apart is that it all describes
the First Merit Foundation Club Level at InfoCision Stadium.
After a very brisk and smooth elevator ride to the fifth floor, you
step out of one of the three elevators to the level into the
brightly lit lobby. Complete with incredible graphics welcoming you
to the lobby, turning to your left, you find a stunning view of Lee
Jackson Field, the University of Akron campus and downtown. Turning
to your right you find a game day experience like never before seen
in Zips football history.
While not ready for Zips fans quite yet, the Club Level has fully
come into shape with finishing details being put into place.
Ceiling tiles are all in place, painting is nearly complete as is
carpeting. Only a few windows are left incomplete at this time to
provide access for delivery of larger objects in the coming
days.
Stepping outside into the open-air views of Summa Field at the Club
Level are nothing short of incredible. There are two options for
fans at this level of the stadium to enjoy the game. Approximately
500 traditional "bucket" stadium seats will be available, providing
this level its closest view of game day action. These seats will be
installed in the coming weeks. Just behind the stadium seating -
but still in the open air of the level - are the loge boxes. There
will be 38 screened-off sections in the loge area, each with a
bistro-style table and chairs set.
When an individual purchases a seat at the Club Level, they also
have access to the lounge area indoors. Fans wanting to escape the
brisk breezes of chilly November afternoons at Zips games will be
able to retreat to additional bistro tables and furniture with
meals and snacks being served from one of two walk-up counters.
Nearly all carpet has been laid at this time in the lounge areas
and ceramic tile, which surrounds the food service areas, is also
complete. The bistro furniture should be put into place in a couple
of weeks. Two lounge areas are available at the Club Level and one
of the most striking features is the high ceiling that opens up to
the Suite Level above. Each lounge area has multiple electrical
set-ups for flat screen television units which will provide feeds
of game day action. There is also a full audio system installed
throughout the Club Level which provides the opportunity for fans
to listen in on live play-by-play and analysis of the game.
In the next week or so at the Club Level, clean-up will continue
for InfoCision Stadium's debut on Sept. 12 versus Morgan State at 2
p.m. EDT. Television installation will be occurring shortly.
Furniture will be in place during that time as well. Fans at the
Club Level are certainly in for an unforgettable game day
experience.
Extra Points: During the visit to learn more about
the Club Level, the decorative wrought-iron fence that will provide
security around InfoCision Stadium was going into place as well as
light fixtures on the brick columns around the main concourse.
Check back with GoZips.com next week for a sneak peek inside the visitor's locker room of InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field.
