AKRON – Akron's countdown to kickoff Noon Saturday versus
No. 11 Ohio State will begin Thursday night (7-8 pm) with Zips Live
from the Fairlawn Winking Lizard. The weekly show can be heard live
this week on GoZips.com and on a taped delay basis on Akron-ISP
Sports Network flagship station, Sports Radio 1350 AM. Also, Zips
Live is broadcast each week one hour prior to the Zips' own
pre-game radio show.
For Thursday night's show, host Bill Morgan will talk with UA head
coach J.D. Brookhart as they recap Akron's 22-14 win over Army as
well as preview this weekend's meeting with the Buckeyes. Also,
during the show, Morgan will talk with Akron cross country head
coach Scott Jones as the Zips prepare to open their season hosting
the annual Tommy Evans Invitational at Firestone Park.
Akron's radio coverage on 1350 AM, 1490 AM (WERE) and GoZips.com
will resume on Saturday at 11 am (one hour prior to kickoff) with
the hour-long pre-game show with Steve French, Frank Stams and Joe
Dunn. During the pre-game show, French will have interviews with
Brookhart and reigning MAC East Defensive Player of the Week Reggie
Corner.
In addition to the Akron-ISP Sports Network post-game show, 1350 AM
will have its own post-game show following Akron's coverage.
The Akron-Ohio State football game will be telecast on the Big Ten
Network. In addition to checking your local listings for
availability in your area, DirecTV will broadcast the game on
channel 220.
