Akron-Ohio State Tickets Offered to the Public August 6

AKRON - A limited number of tickets for the Zips' Sept. 8 football game at Ohio State (12:10 p.m. kickoff) will go on sale to the public Monday, Aug. 6. Tickets are priced at $43 apiece and can be purchased through The University of Akron Athletic Ticket Office in the lobby of James A. Rhodes Arena. The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. UA faculty, staff and students will be able to purchase OSU tickets on Aug. 1.
Between now and Aug. 6, fans can avoid the rush and lock in an Ohio State ticket by also purchasing a reserved Zips' season ticket ($40 for four home games, $20 faculty/staff, seniors, Varsity "A" members). Tickets will be mailed the first week in August.
Tickets can be charged over the phone by dialing 330-972-6920 or 1-888-99-AKRON. The ticket office accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
The Zips open their 2001 season Aug. 30 at home against Ohio.
In addition, The University of Akron Alumni Association is sponsoring bus travel to and from Columbus on game day. The cost is $40 per person and includes a brunch upon arrival. Your game ticket must be purchased separately. For information on the trip, contact the Alumni Office at 330-972-7270. Reservations are due July 27.
