Sarah McCormick

Sarah McCormick was named an assistant coach for Akron women’s lacrosse in February 2019.
McCormick has coached summer league and travel lacrosse since 2014. She spent two summers with the Burning River girls’ summer league and two seasons with the Athena girls’ summer league and travel teams. In 2019, she was an assistant coach at Jackson High School, working with the junior varsity and varsity teams during their spring seasons.
A four-year letterwinner at midfielder and two-year team captain for Christy Mitchell at Walsh University, McCormick played in 62 games with 58 starts throughout her collegiate career. She scored 83 goals and had 57 assists for 140 points. As a senior in 2018, she finished second in team scoring with 61 points (31 goals and a team-best 30 assists) en route to second-team All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference honors.
McCormick earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Walsh in 2018.
The Canton, Ohio, native graduated from Jackson High School where she was a three-year letterwinner. As a senior, she captained the squad and earned first-team All-District, Academic All-Ohio, and team Offensive Player of the Year honors.
