Abby Lagoner was named an assistant coach for Akron women’s lacrosse in May 2019.
The Webster, N.Y., native was a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse at St. Bonaventure University. Named the Most Improved Player as a freshman in 2016, Lagoner twice earned the Best Bonnie Award. She was named the team’s Unsung Hero as a senior in 2019. Lagoner was a three-sport athlete at Webster Thomas High School, lettering in lacrosse, ice hockey, and tennis.
Lagoner earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from St. Bonaventure in 2019. She was a Kappa Delta PI education honor society member and was the 2019 recipient of the John J. McNamee Award for Excellence and the Al Nothem Student Teaching Award.
Lagoner’s community service projects include Habitat for Humanity and Special Olympics. She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
