Chandler Rice joins the Zips' coaching staff after spending four seasons as an assistant coach at Cleveland State.
 Before her coaching career, Rice was an outstanding player at Toledo. Rice was a three-time First Team All-Mid-American selection at Toledo and also earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association all-region honors as a senior.
She departed Toledo as the school's all-time leader in slugging percentage, runs scored, doubles and total bases. Additionally, she ranks second in Toledo history in batting average, hits, at-bats, runs batted in and home runs.
Equally adept in the classroom, Rice was named Second Team All-District by CoSIDA and was an All-MAC academic selection.
Following her career at Toledo, Rice signed with the Akron Racers of the National Pro Fastpitch League.
Rice is from Louisville, Ohio and attended Louisville High School.
