as a Junior (2006)- Started all 19 games ... first-team All-MAC selection ... second-team All-Ohio ... Academic All-MAC honoree ... netted a career-high five goals and four assists for 14 points ... ranked tied for third on the squad in goals scored and total points ... recorded 29 shots, 13 of which were on goal ... first goal of the season came in a 2-0 win over Davidson (Aug. 27) ... assisted on the game-winning score in a 1-0 overtime victory over Robert Morris (Sept. 8) ... also set up the game winner in the 2-0 victory vs. Wright State (Oct. 10) ... was the first of four Akron players to score as the Zips defeated Bowling Green, 4-1 (Oct. 20) ... recorded a hat trick with three goals in a 4-0 route of UNC Greensboro on Oct. 24 ... for his efforts Kalan was named the MAC Player of the Week, and earned recognition as a member of the College Soccer News and Soccer America national teams of the week ... picked up a pair of assists as the Zips advanced to the MAC Tournament title game with an 8-2 win over Bowling Green (Nov. 3) ... earned the team’s Sportsmanship Award.
as a Sophomore (2005)- Academic All-MAC selection ... started all 23 games in the midfield ... had three shots at Robert Morris (Sept. 4) ... netted one game winning goal on the season in Akron’s 3-0 win over Bowling Green (Oct. 16) ... took a season-high five shots in that game, four of which were on-goal ... first assist of the season came in a 2-2 tie at St. John’s (Oct. 12) ... had an assist in the 5-0 MAC Tournament semifinal win over Western Michigan (Nov. 11) ... scored his second goal of the season in a 5-0 win over West Virginia in the second round of the NCAA Tournament (Nov. 23).
as a Freshman (2004)- Made an immediate impact at Akron, appearing in 20 of 21 matches ... started the final 14 games of the season ... scored his first career point on an assist on Yohann Mauger’s goal vs. Princeton (Sept. 10) ... assisted on Ross McKenzie’s game-winning goal in overtime at No. 21 Washington (Sept. 26) ... first career goal came in the 64th minute of Akron’s 4-0 win at Bowling Green (Oct. 3) ... tallied his third assist of the season at Cleveland State (Oct. 11) ... contributed a score to Akron’s four-goal effort in a win over Buffalo in the semifinals of the MAC Tournament (Nov. 7).
