Kevin Byrne is in his second season with the Akron basketball program, and first season with head coach John Groce.

Byrne has over 15 years of coaching and playing experience. He spent four years as head coach of Ohio Northern University and was an associate head coach at MIT. Byrne played three seasons professionally in Europe.
