as a Junior (2009): Started all 12 games ... led the team with 43 receptions ... his 520 receiving yards was second-highest on the club ... also recorded 22 yards on four punt returns and 86 yards on three kick returns ... registered 50 or more receiving yards in six games ... recorded 53 yards on five receptions in his UA debut at Penn State (Sept. 5) ... broke out with 126 yards on eight receptions and two touchdowns in a win against Kent State (Nov. 7) ... after recording a 59-yard reception for a score in the first half, his six-yard connection with Patrick Nicely in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference in the 28-20 win over the rival Golden Flashes.
Prior to Akron: Named to 2008 California All-Region III first team by the JC Athletic Bureau-California Community College Football Coaches Association at Fullerton Community College .... also picked up first team honors by the Southern California Football Conference … Earned three of four stars on Scout.com … caught 36 passes for 581 yards (team only threw for 1,782 yards) with four touchdowns … also averaged 14.5 yards per punt return (13 for 188) … Fullerton was 9-1 in 2008 … played his freshman season at Compton Junior College … attended Kennedy HS in Belle Chase, La.
