Junior (2006): Ranked third on the team, and 27th in the Mid-American Conference, with 79 total hits ... Led the squad with 15 tackles for loss, including a team-best 5.5 sacks ... Ranked 10th in the MAC and 60th in the nation in TFLs (1.08) while his average of 0.46 sacks per game ranked 96th in the NCAA ... For the first time in his career, was named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week for his play in a win over Buffalo ... Had a career-high four sacks against the Bulls ... Finished with five total tackles (four unassisted and one assisted) and his four sacks resulted in a loss of 17 yards ... The four sacks were the most by a Zips player in Akron’s Division I era and is tied for fourth most in the nation for 2006 ... Had four tackles in the season opener at Penn State, including two for losses of seven yards ... Posted a career-high 12 stops at Central Michigan, including two for losses ... Eight tackles (six solo) in the season opener at Purdue ... Five tackles at Buffalo, including a sack for an eight-yard loss ... Season-high 11 stops (eight solo) versus Army ... After being held to just three tackles in the win over Ohio, finished the regular season with six stops versus. Kent State and eight in the MAC Championship game versus Northern Illinois ... Picked up a Kent State fumble on the third play of the game, returning it 16 yards for a touchdown as the Zips clinched the MAC East title with a 35-3 victory ... Five solo stops (10 total) versus Memphis in the Motor City Bowl ... Earned the Harry “Doc” Smith Award as the top sophomore on the squad.
