Five Zips Earn All-MAC Lacrosse Honors

2026 MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE POSTSEASON LACROSSE AWARDS RELEASE
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The University of Akron lacrosse team garnered a program-record five All-Mid-American Conference selections when the league unveiled its 2026 award winners in a vote of the league coaches released on Wednesday (April 29).
Junior Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) capped a brilliant regular season campaign with her selection as the league's Attacker of the Year. Senior Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) culminated her stellar season being honored as the MAC Midfielder of the Year.
The duo headlined the Zips' award winners as the pair was selected as First Team All-MAC honorees. Pulling in Second Team All-MAC laurels were seniors Sarah Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) and Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.). Freshman Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) rounded out Akron's award winner being named to the MAC All-Freshman team.
A three-time All-MAC honoree, Hinchcliffe becomes just the second Zip in program history to garner First Team All-MAC accolades in back-to-back campaigns joining Noelle Boyd.
Starting all 15 games for Akron this season, Hinchcliffe leads the Zips in goals (70), points (97), shots (143) and shots on goal (102), while rating second in assists (31) and ground balls (26), third in draw controls (46) and fourth in caused turnovers (12).
She has set single-season program records for goals (70), points (97), assists (31) and shots (143), while ranking second in shots on goal (102).
Starting all seven league games, Hinchcliffe headlines the MAC in goals (39), points (58), shots (76) and shots on goal (59), while rating third in assists (19). She scored four or more goals in six of seven league games. Additionally, she ranks second in the NCAA in goals per game (4.67), shots per contest (9.53) and in shots on goal (6.80), third in total goals (70) and points per match (6.47) and fifth in total points (97).
A 2025 Second Team All-MAC selection, Katie Baumer has started all 15 games for Akron this season and leads the team in draw controls (58) and ground balls (32), while ranking second on the squad in goals (37), points (58), shots (82), shots on goal (60) and caused turnovers (19).
She is rated second in the MAC in draw controls (3.80), sixth in points (3.87) and in goals per game (2.47), seventh in shots (5.47) and in caused turnovers (1.27), eighth in assists (1.40) and ninth in ground balls (2.20). In league-only matches, she ranked fourth in the MAC in draw controls (4.43) and caused turnovers (2.00), fifth in assists per match (1.71), sixth in goals per game (2.43), points per contest (4.14), seventh in shots per match (5.86) and ninth in ground balls (2.71).
Starting all 15 games for the Zips this season, Sarah Baumer has led Akron's defensive efforts on the campaign posting a team-best 27 caused turnovers, while adding 22 ground balls. She enters tournament play ranked 52nd in the country in caused turnovers (1.80).
Starting all seven league games, Baumer finished second on the team in caused turnovers (13) and third in ground balls (11), while ranking fifth in the MAC in caused turnovers (1.86).
Appearing in all 15 games for Akron this season, including 14 starts, Fletcher leads the Zips in assists (31), while rating third in points (34) and fourth in goals (21), shots (43) and shots on goal (33). Additionally, she has added 20 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.
She is ranked third in the MAC in assists (2.07) per game and seventh in points (3.47) per outing. In league-only games, Fletcher appeared in all seven games, including six starts, and registered 13 goals en route to ranking second on the squad in assists (17) and points (30) on the strength of 22 shots, including 19 shots on goal.
