Madie Jamrog Named MAC Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference selected Akron junior pitcher Madie Jamrog (Holland, Mich.) as MAC Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
For the second time this season, Jamrog earned MAC pitching accolades as she led Akron to a 3-2 overall record last week. The Zips split a non-conference doubleheader with Robert Morris and defeated UMass 2-1 to remain at the top of the MAC standings.
Jamrog earned all three wins with one complete game performance, posting a 2.13 earned run average. Jamrog threw 23.0 innings and limited opponents to hitting a .241 batting average. She allowed 7 earned runs on 21 hits with 15 strikeouts and only 5 walks. She threw a five hit shutout to secure the win and the series against UMass.
Against Robert Morris, she posted a 0.00 ERA, limiting hitters to a .188 batting average in four innings of work with seven strikeouts and three hits allowed.
