AKRON, Ohio - The Akron baseball team hosts Youngstown State on Tuesday, while traveling to Pittsburgh on Wednesday for a pair of mid-week contests.

Youngstown State: The Penguins enter the week with a 5-28 overall record and have lost their last five. After going 2-1 against Milwaukee, YSU has lost to Pittsburgh and was recently swept by Wright State.
Akron will be the first of two straight MAC opponents for YSU, as the Penguins travel to Central Michigan on Wednesday.
Nathan Beckly leads the Penguins in average (.282), doubles (8), triples (2) and walks (16). Brady Shannon leads the way in home runs (10) and RBI (21). Misael Uriepero is the leader in stolen bases (8).
On the mound, Braden Gebhardt leads the staff with a 2.14 ERA in nine appearances and starts. He owns a 2-2 record with a team-high 54.2 innings pitched and 66 strikeouts. Gebhardt is one of five Penguins to appear in nine games this season.

Antonio Doganiero leads the pitching staff with a 1.72 ERA in eight appearances and six starts. He holds a 5-1 record with 31.1 innings pitched and 32 strikeouts. Mikey Gray and Daniel McAuliff have both seen action in 11 games, while Eddie Smink holds the lead for saves (2). David Leslie has thrown a team-high 41.2 innings this season and leads the staff with 40 strikeouts.
