Women's Soccer Battles to Scoreless Draw With Buffalo
October 18 | Women's Soccer
AKRON, Ohio — The Akron women's soccer team battled to a scoreless draw against Buffalo at FirstEnergy Stadium following two long road trips to UMass and Central Michigan.
The Zips were only limited to eight shots — three of which were on goal — while the Bulls racked up 19 shots and four on net.
Only one corner kick was awarded the entire match, which came in the first half.
Buffalo had perhaps the best chance of a goal from either side with less than a minute left on a cross with a winger waiting for the pass, but Reece Paget kicked the ball out of harms way just outside the goal line to ultimately preserve the shutout for the Zips.
Jordanne Oberhaus was Akron's leading shot taker with three. Sara Bower notched four saves in net and recorded her sixth clean sheet of the season.
Sophomore Devyn Raymond made her season debut for the Zips after sustaining a season-ending injury seven matches into her freshman campaign
