KENT, Ohio – The University of Akron track and field team registered three victories as part of 16 overall top three performances at the Jud Logan Memorial hosted by Kent State on Friday (Jan. 23).
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Redshirt senior Owen Wendl (Medina, Ohio) captured the men's shot put with a career-best throw of 59-4.25 (18.09m), the third-longest mark in indoor program history.
• Redshirt senior Gabrielle Griffiths (Fort Worth, Texas) won the women's shot put with a mark of 44-10.25 (13.67m).
• Sophomore Mariyah Moore (Cleveland, Ohio) bested the field in the women's 200 meters in a career-best time of 24.95.
