DEKALB, Ill. -Â The University of Akron women's soccer team garnered a road result battling Northern Illinois (2-4-3, 0-1-2 MAC) to a 0-0 draw on Thursday (Sept. 25) at the NIU Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
How it Happened
Akron (3-3-3, 0-1-2 MAC) registered seven shots in the scoreless tie, three of them on goal. The Zips faced nine Northern Illinois shots, four of them on goal. Redshirt freshman GK Ariana Vakos (Avon, Ohio) led Akron with four saves en route to collecting her first career clean sheet and the fourth shutout of the season for the Zips.
