Akron Drops 10-8 Decision to Detroit Mercy

DETROIT, Mich. – The University of Akron lacrosse team saw its three-match winning streak snapped as Detroit Mercy rallied for a come-from-behind 10-8 Mid-American Conference triumph past the Zips on Sunday (March 30).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Junior Katie Baumer (Rochester, N.Y.) led Akron with a team-high three goals, while redshirt senior Noelle Boyd (Murrysville, Pa), sophomore Sienna Hinchcliffe (Rochester, N.Y.) and junior Kellen Fletcher (Valencia, Pa.) added two, two and one goals, respectively.
• Fletcher and Hinchcliffe each recorded an assist for the Zips.
• Boyd and Hinchcliffe tallied a game-high six shots apiece, including four on goal, while Baumer added five shots.
• Boyd and Baumer led the Zips with a team-high three ground balls, while Hinchcliffe garnered a team-best five draw controls.
• Baumer posted a team-high two caused turnovers to go along with an eight-save performance from senior goalkeeper Hannah Sanders (Massillon, Ohio).
