Zips Prepare to Host 2025 Zippy Invitational

AKRON, Ohio - The Akron women's swimming and diving team returns to Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium to host the annual Zippy Invitational from December 4-7.
Fans can watch the four-day event on Zips Digital, while stats can be found on the meet mobile app.
Along with the Zips, Buffalo (Women), Bowling Green (Women), Clarion (Men+Women), Cornell (Men+Women), Keiser (Men+Women) and Youngstown State (Men+Women) will compete.
Akron is coming off a first-place finish at the Magnus Cup Invitational at Cleveland State. Akron finished with 1,523.5 points while Northern Colorado finished second (1285) and Bowling Green took third (1128.5).
The Zips took gold at the 2024 Zippy Invitational with a 2,039-point total, while Oakland took second with 1,564 points and Buffalo finished third with 1,544 points. The Zips took first place every single day over the four-day event.

What's Next?
Akron will begin 2026 with the Buffalo Diving Invite (Jan. 9-11) while the swim team will head to Toledo to battle the Rockets (Jan. 10).
