Akron Duo Garners United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Accolades

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - University of Akron men's soccer senior Stefan Dobrijevic (Uniontown, Ohio) and junior Matt Dreas (Covington, Ky.) were selected as First- and Second-Team Scholar All-America award winners, respectively, when the United Soccer Coaches unveiled its 2025 Scholar All-America team on Thursday (Dec. 17).

Dobrijevic joins Chad Barson (2012), Reinaldo Brenes (2013), Scott Caldwell (2011, 2012), David Meves (2012), Justin Millard (1998), Adam Najem (2015, 2016) and Diego Pacheco (2021) as the eighth Zip to garner United Soccer Coaches First-Team Scholar All-America accolades.

Dobrijevic and Dreas also become the 10th and 11th Zips to earn United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America accolades joining Chad Barson (2011, 2012), Orjan Bianeso (2000), Reinaldo Brenes (2013), Jonas Buechte (2023), Scott Caldwell (2011, 2012), David Meves (2012), Justin Millard (1998), Adam Najem (2015, 2016) and Diego Pacheco (2021).
The United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America citations are the 13th and 14th in the Zips' storied men's soccer history, while also marking the 36th and 37th overall academic All-America honors in program history.
The award adds to an impressive resume for Dobrijevic, who was named a First-Team All-East Region selection, the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and a unanimous First-Team All-BIG EAST selection. Dobrijevic appeared in all 21 games for Akron, including 19 starts, en route to posting team-high marks in goals (8), assists (12), points (28), shots (51), shots on goal (22) and game-winners (3).
Dobrijevic ranked second in the BIG EAST in assists per game (.571), fourth in points per contest (1.33), seventh in shots per tilt (2.43) and in game-winners (.143) and eighth in goals per outing (.381) and in shots on goal (1.05). In league-only affairs, Dobrijevic was second the BIG EAST in points per game (2.00), goals per match (.750) and in game-winners (.250), third in assists per contest (.500) and shots on goal (1.75) and fourth in shots per tilt (3.00).
Individually, Dobrijevic finished fifth in the NCAA in total assists (12), seventh in assist per contest (0.57), 8in total points (28), 31st in points per game (1.33) and 37th in game-winners (3).
