Akron and Army West Point Ends in Scoreless Draw

AKRON, Ohio -- The No. 12 ranked Akron men's soccer team held advantages in time of possession and shots but were unable to find the back of the net against Army West Point, ending in a 0-0 tie at FirstEnergy Stadium on Monday (Aug. 24).
The Zips controlled the ball for 73-percent of the game and attempted 24 shots compared to the Black Knights five shots in the 90-minute battle. Akron (1-0-1) had six shots on goal, while the Army (0-0-2) goalkeeper registered saves on all six attempts. Additionally, the Zips attempted 10 corner kicks and limited Army to three chances.
The tie moved Akron's record to 1-0-1 overall.
