Akron 2026 Softball Schedule Released

AKRON, Ohio - The Akron softball program unveiled its Spring 2026 schedule, including 56 total games and 14 home contests at Lee. R. Jackson Field.
Akron will be on the road for the first 28 games of the season, traveling to South Carolina for the Kickin' Chicken Classic (Feb. 6-15) to open the 2026 campaign.
The Zips are scheduled to battle Arkansas in the season opener at 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 6 and will play the host Coastal Carolina at 6 p.m. Similar schedule on day two as Akron plays Virginia (Feb. 7 at 12:30 p.m.) and Coastal Carolina (Feb. 7 at 5:30 p.m.). The Zips will also play a second game against Arkansas (Feb. 8 at 10 a.m.).

The following six games of the South Carolina swing will be played in Charleston as College of Charleston and Charleston Southern co-host the Charleston Invitational. The Zips open the classic against Charleston on Feb. 11 at 5 p.m. followed by a double header against Sacred Heart and UConn on Feb. 16 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively. Akron will be back on the diamond for a double header against UConn and Western Carolina at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 14. The Zips wrap-up the South Carolina swing with a game against Charleston Southern at Noon on Feb. 15.

The Zips will play five games in North Carolina for the Raleigh Times tournament, opening with Providence on Feb. 20 at 10:30 a.m. Akron plays back-to-back games against Illinois on Feb. 20-21 at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. followed by a pair of games against host N.C. State on Feb. 21-22 qt 2:30 p.m. and 11:30 a.m.

The following week, Akron travels to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for five games at the 2026 MTSU Tournament with a pair of doubleheaders against Middle Tennessee and UT Martin on Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and against the same opponents on Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The final game of the tournament is scheduled for a 11 a.m. start on March 1 against UT Martin.

Next, the Blue and Gold travels to Huntington, W.Va. for a pair of doubleheaders as they battle Canisius and Marshall on March 6 at 12 and 3 p.m. Followed by Howard and Canisius on March 7 at 12 and 5:30 p.m. From there Akron will play Ohio State in Columbus on March 11 at 5 p.m. prior to opening league play. On March 13-14, Akron is scheduled for a three-game road trip against Ball State for the MAC opener.

Akron's Home Opener is scheduled for March 20-21 as the Zips battle the Miami RedHawks. Akron also hosts Toledo (April 3-4), Buffalo (April 11-12), Robert Morris (DH, April 14) and Central Michigan (May 1-2). The Zips will be on the road against Western Michigan (March 27-28), Kent State (April 7-8), UMass (April 17-18), Ohio (April 24-25) and Dayton (April 29).

Please not the April 7 game against rival Kent State is scheduled to be played at Firestone Stadium.
