Budler and Dobrijevic Earn Weekly BIG EAST Honors

NEW YORK - University of Akron men's soccer redshirt senior goalkeeper Mitch Budler (Lincoln, Neb.) and senior Stefan Dobrijevic (Uniontown, Ohio) were honored by the BIG EAST Conference as its Goalkeeper and Offensive Player of the Week the league announced on Monday, Nov. 3.

Budler continued his stellar campaign leading the Zips to a key BIG EAST Conference victory with a 2-0 triumph over Marquette. Budler directed the defensive efforts for Akron pulling in four saves in the match, a pair of stops in each half, en route to recording his NCAA-leading 10th shutout of the season.

Dobrijevic turned in a strong week for the Zips registering team-highs in goals (2), points (4), shots (4), shots on goal (3) and game-winners (1). He registered his second straight multi-goal performance with a pair of tallies in Akron's 2-0 victory over Marquette.

He opened the scoring with a successful penalty kick on what proved to be the game-winning tally at the 60:30 mark for his team-leading seventh goal of the season. He then netted his eighth goal of the season in the 81st minute (80:10) off an assist from senior Ashton Kamdem (West Chester, Ohio) and freshman Braxton Hayes (Bowie, Md.). He finished the contest posting a game-high four shots, including three on goal.

Dobrijevic leads Akron in goals (8), assists (9), points (25), shots (44), shots on goal (19) and game-winners (3) this season. In league-only games, he leads the BIG EAST Conference in goals (6), assists (4) and points (16).
