Zips Win 2025 Magnus Cup - Finish with 1,523.5 Points

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The University of Akron women's swimming and diving team dominated the 2025 Magnus Cup Invitational, winning the overall women's team title with 1,523.5 points, outpacing second-place Northern Colorado by more than 200 points.
Akron picked up significant scoring across the meet, highlighted by strong freestyle and butterfly performances as well as depth through B-finals and C-finals.
Felicia Klintemar led the Zips with multiple top swims, including second place in the 100-yard freestyle in 50.08 and a win in the 50 free A-final in 23.92.
Callie Parkes added a top-three finish in the 50 free (24.58) and later posted a 51.84 in the 100 free C-final.
Akron's butterfly group also delivered heavily. Maggie Patterson finished fourth in the 200 fly at 2:03.14, with Ava Withey close behind in sixth at 2:05.17.
Efthymia Mazaraki won the women's 100-yard butterfly swim-off in 58.24. The Zips' depth was evident throughout the sprint events as Addy Soehnlen, Ada Szwabinska, Hannah Trainer, and others secured key points across B- and C-final appearances.
Akron also earned a podium finish in women's team diving, placing third with a score of 257.15.
