AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Ball State on Thursday (Sept. 26) at FirstEnergy Stadium.
How it Happened
The Cardinals scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the sixth minute (5:20) when Addie Chester found the back of the net off assists from Avery Fenchel and Emily Roper.
Ball State took a 1-0 lead into the intermission.
The Zips came out of the break and pushed the pace posting a 6-3 edge in second-half shots, but were able to find the equalizer in the match.
Redshirt junior GK Penelope Cuirinier (Mionnay, France) led Akron with five saves.
The Zips registered eight shots in the loss, two of them on goal. Akron faced 13 Ball State shots, seven of them on goal.
