AKRON, Ohio -The Akron volleyball team recorded a .446 hitting percentage en route to a 3-0 victory (25-12, 25-12, 25-11) over the Mercyhurst Lakers on Tuesday at James A Rhodes Arena.
The Zips offense was paced by Lauren Baker, who finished with 12 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .458. Emanouela Christodoulou added 11 kills and hit .417 while Gabby Brissett chipped in with 10 kills and hit .421 as part of balanced Akron attack. The Zips got 12 digs from Eliska Vytiskova along with seven blocks from Karleighana Jones to lead them defensively.
The out-of-conference victory improved the Zips' overall record to 2-4 on the season.
