CHARLESTON, Ill. - A goal in the 66th minute from senior Ella Hadley (Concord, Ohio) helped the University of Akron women's soccer team earn a 1-1 draw at Eastern Illinois on Sunday (Aug. 18).
How it Happened
• Eastern Illinois netted the game's first goal in the 11th minute when Abby Reinl found the back of the net off an assist from Morgan Rinker.
• The Zips outshot the Panthers in the opening stanza, 8-3, but entered the intermission trailing by a 1-0 margin.
• Redshirt senior Morgan Pentz (Broadview Heights, Ohio) delivered a perfect free kick at the 65:18 mark that Hadley headed into the back of the net for the equalizer.
Game Notes
- Sophomore GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) recorded two second-half saves for the Zips.
- Akron posted a 13-5 overall edge in shots on the afternoon, including a 5-4 margin in shots on goal
- Hadley recorded a game-high four shots in the match, including two on goal.
