Â
Akron is set to return nine starters in 2024, including seniors Ella Hadley (Concord, Ohio), Morgan Pentz (Broadview Heights, Ohio) and Katie Stafford (Gahanna, Ohio), junior Emma King (Akron, Ohio) and sophomores Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio), Hannah Langstaff (Washington, Ill.), Jordanne Oberhaus (Wadsworth, Ohio), Anna Simmons (Manassas, Va.) and Rachel Wenzel (Akron, Ohio).
The Zips will also be bolstered by the return of a key 2022 contributor who missed the 2023 season due to injury in senior goalkeeper Penelope Cuirinier (Mionnay, France).

The squad welcomed 11 newcomers into the mix as the Zips went through a nearly two-hour training session on the Shrank Practice Field.
Akron takes to the pitch for the initial time on Aug. 6 when the Zips host Dayton in the first of two exhibition matches before traveling to St. Bonaventure on Aug. 11 to round out the exhibition campaign.
The Zips will kick off its 24th season of intercollegiate women's soccer traveling to Iona for a non-conference showdown with the Gaels on Aug.15 before visiting Eastern Illinois (Aug. 18). The home opener for the Zips will see Akron battle Oakland on Aug. 22 at FirstEnergy Stadium.
