RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of Akron sophomore Brian Masai (Kitale, Kenya) ran a school-record time in the men's 5,000 meters at the Raleigh Relays on Thursday (March 28).

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Masai opened his outdoor campaign breaking his own school record in the men's 5,000 meters crossing the line in 13:34.26 to place fourth.

AUSTIN, TEXAS – The University of Akron redshirt junior Jimmy Harkelroad (Huron, Ohio) ran a season-best time of 52.38 in the men's 400-meter hurdles on the second day of the Texas Relays on Thursday (March 28).

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Harkelroad narrowly missed qualifying for the finals of the men's 400-meter hurdles crossing the line in a season-best time of 52.38 to place 12th.

The Zips will continue competition at the Texas Relays on Friday (March 29).
