FORT MYERS, Fla --Akron fell 4-1 to Florida Gulf Coast at the FGCU Tournament on Saturday.
At the plate, the Zips were led by sophomore Brooke Sivek, who went 0-for-2 on the day with a walk and an RBI.
Freshman Macy Walters (0-1) got the ball to start for Akron (1-3, ) and took the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Zips were trailing 4-0 in the seventh inning when they first put runs on the board. Freshman Delaney Jenkinson came across to score the lone run of the inning for Akron and get them on the board. The ballgame ended with that seventh inning rally falling short.
