Second Round of the MAC-SBC Challenge Announced - Akron Set To Travel to James Madison

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference and Sun Belt Conference announced the second round of the MAC-SBC Challenge on Monday, January 22, with the Akron Zips set to travel to James Madison University on February 10 with a 4 p.m. start currently scheduled.
Akron defeated Southern Mississippi 72-54 on Nov. 10 to begin the MAC-SBC Challenge at the JAR while James Madison took down Kent State 113-108 in double overtime on the road.
The second MAC-SBC Challenge contest for each team will take place on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, with the matchups based on real-time NET rankings. The MAC women's and Sun Belt men's squads will host the February matchups.
In addition to relevant NET data, geography and frequency of past contests are considered in determining the matchups. Each MAC-SBC Challenge game will be carried on an ESPN platform.
The MAC is 7-5 against the SBC with Toledo, Northern Illinois, Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, and Akron posting wins in the first round.
