KENT, Ohio - The University of Akron track and field team posted a pair of victories as part of 12 overall top-five performances at the Jud Logan Memorial hosted by Kent State on Saturday (Jan. 13).

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Redshirt junior Hunter Garretson (Newcomerstown, Ohio) captured the men's pole vault eclipsing 17-4.50 (5.30m).
• Redshirt senior Jabari Neal-Jackson (Cincinnati, Ohio) won the men's weight throw with a mark of 62-1 (18.93m).
• Junior Jamari Davis (Ontario, Calif.) crossed the line in a career-best time of 25.22 in the women's 200 meters to place second.
• Tysean Baronette (Middleton, Del.) finished third in the men's 200 meters in a career-best time of 22.06.
• Sophomore Josiah Cox (New Franklin, Ohio) placed third in the men's shot put with a career-best throw of 55-0 (16.76m).
• The women's 4x400 relay team of Davis, sophomore Tai'Yanna Cage (West Palm Beach, Fla.), freshman Josephine Davis (Lewis Center, Ohio), sophomore Jade Celestine (Ajax, Ontario) finished second in a time of 3:57.20.
