BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - A goal in the 79th minute from Emma Stransky proved to be the game-winning tally lifting Bowling Green past the University of Akron women's soccer team on Thursday (Sept. 28) at Cochrane Field.
How it Happened
Akron and Bowling Green battled through a scoreless opening half before Stransky delivered a strike from over 20 yards out to the upper 90 to give the Falcons a lead they didn't relinquish.
Freshman GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) led Akron with eight saves, one off her career-high.
The Zips totaled five shots, four of them on goal. Akron faced 20 Bowling Green shots, nine of them on frame.
