KENT, Ohio - The University of Akron women's soccer team came up short against rival Kent State, 2-1, on Sunday (Sept. 24) at Dix Stadium.
How it Happened
Akron broke the scoreless tie when sophomore Emma King (Akron, Ohio) recorded her third goal of the season in the 63rd minute, assisted by junior Ella Hadley (Concord, Ohio).
The Golden Flashes responded to tie it on a goal from Alisa Arthur in the 83rd minute.
Kent State then broke the 1-1 tie on Kelsey Salopek's 88th-minute goal.

- Freshman GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio) recorded three saves for the Zips out of 11 total Golden Flashes shots.
- Akron registered eight shots on goal.
