AKRON, Ohio - A pair of first-half goals propelled Buffalo past Akron, 2-0, in the Mid-American Conference women's soccer opener for both schools on Thursday (Sept. 21) at home at FirstEnergy Stadium.
How it Happened
Katie Krohn netted tallies in the 16th and 25th minutes, respectively, for Buffalo to give the Bulls a lead they didn't relinquish in the match.
Freshman GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio), the MAC Defensive Player of the Week, led Akron with three saves.
The Zips recorded six shots in the setback, one of them on goal. Akron faced 18 Buffalo shots, five of them on goal.
