MAC Announces Kickoff Times and TV Broadcast Schedule for 2023 Football Campaign

2023 AKRON FOOTBALL SCHEDULE | BUY 2023 SEASON TICKETS
CLEVELAND, Ohio –The Mid-American Conference unveiled its television selections and game times for the opening three weeks of the 2023 football season on Wednesday, May 31.
All remaining game times and television will be announced 12 days prior to the scheduled game. Games will air on ESPN platforms (ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU/ESPN+/ESPN3), CBS Sports Network and NFL Network. Game dates and times are subject to change.
The University of Akron football team, under the leadership of second-year head coach Joe Moorhead, will kick off its 2023 campaign traveling Philadelphia, Pa., to battle Temple in a 2 p.m. showdown (ESPN+) on Sept. 2 before welcoming Morgan State to InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field for the Zips' home opener at 6 p.m. (ESPN+) on Sept. 9.
The Akron schedule also includes non-conference road contests at Kentucky (Sept. 16) and Indiana (Sept. 23) before Akron opens MAC play. Kickoff versus the Wildcats is set for 7 p.m. with the game airing on ESPNU.
Akron kicks off league action welcoming Buffalo to InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field on Saturday, Sept. 30, before hosting Northern Illinois in a cross-divisional matchup at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7.
Back-to-back road tilts follow at Central Michigan and Bowling Green on Saturday, Oct. 14 and Saturday, Oct. 21, respectively, before the Zips' bye week.
Akron commences its November slate welcoming rival Kent State to InfoCision Stadium–Summa Field for the annual battle for the coveted Wagon Wheel at on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Kickoff will be at either 7 or 7:30 p.m. as decided within the 12-day television selection window.
Akron rounds out its regular season road slate traveling to Miami (7/7:30 pm) on Wednesday, Nov. 8, before visiting Eastern Michigan for a 7 p.m. tilt on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
The Zips close out their regular season campaign entertaining Ohio for Senior Day #MACtion on Friday, Nov. 24 with a noon kickoff at InfoCision Stadium–Summa Field.
The MAC Championship game pitting the top-two teams in each of the league's two divisions is set for Saturday, Dec. 2 at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich.
