LONG BEACH, Calif. – The University of Akron sophomores Brynn Rychlik (Marysville, Ohio) and Cassidy Allen (Lakewood, N.Y.) placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the women's pole vault to headline the efforts of the Zips' track and field team on the opening day of the Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State on Friday, April 14.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Rychlik placed sixth in the women's pole vault with a clearance of 12-4.50 (3.77m) while Allen finished seventh eclipsing the bar at 11-10-.50 (3.62m)

Akron concludes competition at the Beach Invitational on Saturday, April 15.
