AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Akron men's and women's track and field team collected solid performances to open the Texas Relays hosted by the University of Texas on Thursday, March 30.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Redshirt junior Jabari Neal-Jackson (Cincinnati, Ohio) and redshirt sophomore William Gross (Newfane, N.Y.) posted season-best marks of 203-10 (62.14m) and 196-11 (60.03m).
• Redshirt sophomore Jimmy Harkelroad (Huron, Ohio) posted a time of 52.58 in the preliminary round of the men's 400-meter hurdles.
• Sophomore Adaeze Nwokike (Benin City, Nigeria) and freshman Jade Celestine (Ajax, Ontario) garnered season-best times of 62.86 and 64.59 in the women's 400-meter hurdles.
