RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of Akron men's and women's track and field team garnered a trio of personal-best times to highlight the Zips' efforts in the 800 meters at the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Senior Marc Carrera (Staten Island, N.Y.) recorded a career-best Akron time of 1:51.55 to post the Zips' top finish in the men's 800 meters.
• Redshirt sophomore Jean Dieuvil (North Miami Beach, Fla.) and freshman Zayd Elkurd (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) added career-best times of 1:53.03 and 1:57.26, respectively, while redshirt senior Oliver Huffman (Augusta, Ga.) crossed the line in 1:54.56.
• In the women's 800 meters, redshirt junior Makenna Heimlich (Shelby, Ohio) and redshirt sophomore Maddie Heimlich (Shelby, Ohio) posted times of 2:10.96 and 2:15.53.

Akron travels to Texas to compete at the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas and Texas State this upcoming weekend.
