Masai Shatters School Record in 10,000 Meters at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – University of Akron freshman Brian Masai (Kitale, Kenya) shattered the school record in the men's 10,000 meters at the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State on Friday evening crossing the line in 28:45.78.
Masai's effort ranks as the fastest outdoor 10,000-meter time in the Mid-American Conference since at least 2012 and stands as the 10th-best effort in the NCAA this spring. Nine of the top-10 performances in the country this season were set among the 99 runners in the stacked field of competitors.
