Despite Kinnaird's Strong Offensive Performance Zips drop 0-3 to Falcons

AKRON, OH --The Akron volleyball team could not out-play an opposing Falcons offense Friday at home falling to Bowling Green in three sets (17-25, 17-25, 17-25).
The loss dropped Akron's record to 11-14 overall and 6-8 in MAC play. Bowling Green improves to 13-12 and 7-7 in conference.Â
Ellen Kinnaird finished with seven kills on the day to lead the Zips offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .600. Akron got eight digs from Faith Johnson to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Zips found themselves in an early hole, losing a tough first set 25-17. Akron trailed by as many as eight points as Bowling Green scored first and never relinquished their lead.
SET 2 | Akron then lost the second set 25-17 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. Akron again, trailed by as many as eight points as Bowling Green grabbed the advantage for good at 5-4 in a set that was knotted up four times before the Falcons took over the lead.
SET 3 | Akron was not able to win set three and was swept by Bowling Green. The Zips lost a tough set 25-17. Akron trailed most of the stanza as Bowling Green grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1.
